One of Canada's leading provider of responsible lending solutions, founded more than 100 years ago, has over 1,800 employees and 259 branches across the country. Following an acquisition, the company faced a one-year deadline to build a new IT infrastructure to support its 250+ branches across Canada along with plans to launch all-digital loan services.
The technological scope was colossal: it involved deploying a cloud infrastructure and a telecommunication network for 259 branches, migrating and managing all business operations, building an IT operations team, and equipping the company with an ERP. The large amount of confidential, regulated data to be migrated represented major challenges for the organization. Its in-house team was small which meant they needed a well-established IT professional services partner to support them in managing and executing their migration program while maximizing AWS cloud services and deploying ServiceNow as their ITSM solution.
The organization selected FX as its professional services partner to migrate its environments to the AWS cloud, operate and scale the environments after migration, act as prime contractor for the entire AWS migration program and provide managed services on an ongoing basis.
Given the tight deadlines, FX Innovation adapted its agile deployment approach to a phased implementation plan that also fulfilled the organization's need for an ITSM solution. In the first phase, FX delivered a functional ServiceNow ITSM solution in only six weeks. During the ensuing phases, more advanced functionalities were built in as needed, including planning, implementing and managing the ongoing cloud infrastructure and ServiceNow. The cloud migration included 273 AWS instances, 425 servers, 69 databases and 2,000 users, with implementation completed in 19 months. The organization now has built-in security and compliance, leveraging Security as Code & Compliance as Code, and a data foundation and methodology that allows for a more agile approach and faster decision-making.
